MINUTES OF DALLAS-DENTON LAYSPEAKING MINISTRIES QUARTERLY MEETING

February 16, 2010, Chapel Hill UMC, Farmers Branch

In the absence of Vice President Gigi Cain, Leslie Maynard, District Director, called the meeting to order at 7:15.  There were 20 in attendance.

Margaret Reeves gave a devotional.  She read Psalms 149, and then talked about lay speakers needing to be more vocal, especially in praising God.

Susan Anderson gave the Treasurer’s report.  Balance at last meeting was $XXXX.  Deposits were made in the amount of $XX for T-shirt sales.  Expenditures were made in the amount of $XXX for January newsletter expenses and 2 yard signs.  Ending balance is $XXX.

Minutes of the November 17, 2009 meeting were approved as mailed in newsletter.

Margaret Reeves reported for the nominating committee.  Virgil Aldag was recommended for President and Dan Roark for Training Coordinator.  Betsy Schenck agreed to continue as T-shirt coordinator.  There being no candidate for Vice President, Judith Allen agreed to accept the post if elected.   On motion by Betsy Schenck, second by Sandy Swann, Virgil, Judith, Dan and Betsy were elected by acclamation.
