Website Roles
Written by Mark Johnson
Saturday, 07 July 2007 09:54
In using the new website, users will be able to have different roles based on their position within the organization.
The webservant will have overall master control for the website to assure it is working properly. Along with this, the webservant will be able to author, edit, publish, and delete all content. In addition, the webservant will be responsible for making sure that the domain is kept registered, the site has adequate hosting resources, and the overall capabilities and software needed for the smooth operation of the website.
The website committee will have general control similar to the webservant, but will not deal with domain, hosting, or software issues. The committee may advise on those issues, but will be primarily focussed on assuring that all content areas are working properly and needed content is properly updated and organized.
Officers will be able to post content related to their own areas of responsibility. For example, the Secretary-Treasurer will be able to post minutes and correspondence. The newsletter editor will be able to write general articles about information from members or from the Lay Speaking Committee. The Training Coordinator will be able to schedule classes and course descriptions. The District Director will be able to write articles about the activities of the district and developments within the conference or broader Lay Speaking issues.
